Ready-Set-Almost a GO

We had our final pre-trip practice last night at Baseball City followed by pizzas at Giovanni's for most, and a little UCONN basketball for some. The boys got some good hitting in and a chance to exercise their arms from the mound too. The uniforms are all passed out and most of us will be on the road tomorrow for San Juan. It should be a good (but early) flight from BDL with a large contingent of GAB players and families on board. The next entry should be coming from sunny San Juan!

I thought I'd try two things...post my first picture on the blog and show a scene from a sunny day last summer at Riverfront.

Almost Time To Go...

At this point everyone's tickets are booked, off day excursions have been scheduled (thanks Laurie!) and the teams had its first practice session at Baseball City last Friday night (02/04/11). We have another practice scheduled for this coming Wednesday (02/09/11). The players should be working out all the off-season kinks and be getting ready to play ball. Most people will be leaving on Friday 02/18/11 for sunny San Juan. I have to say I'm looking forward to a week of sun, baseball, and warm weather. It sure beats 6ft of snow on the ground, school delays, and roof collapses.
